Misogynistic trolls & comment policy
Jenn talks about the misogynistic aspect of internet trolling & explains her comment policy. Thanks for watching!
“The online harassment of women exemplifies twenty-first century behavior that harms women yet often remains overlooked or trivialized. It stops women fully participating in online life, often driving them offline, and undermines their autonomy, identity, dignity, and well-being.”
~ ‘Combating cyber gender harassment’ by D.K. Citron - professor of Law at University of Maryland School of Law

Internet Misogyny, Trolls and Gendered Comment Abuse
Misogynist trolling, online abuse, safe spaces and making women’s voices heard is the many layered topic for this week’s discussion.
I thought I’d start us out with a good old sweary rant about gendered online harassment and our new stricter comment moderation policy.
Have you experienced online harassment? What have been your experiences as a woman on the internet? Tell us in the comments and leave video responses.
There’s also a growing Twitter movement to publicise online harassment and misogyny using the hashtag #threatoftheday.
